Parish Council Meeting Tuesday 12 December 2023

This month, we are setting the budget for next year and it would be good to have your input on how you would like your money spent (because it is your money, via Council Tax) and what priorities you think the Parish Council should be focussing on this coming year.
We also discuss Planning Applications in progress with CDC and as a Statutory Consultee, we can put forward the views of the community.
From January 2024, the Parish Council has a duty to protect the biodiversity of our local area. The Biodiversity Duty is one that this Parish Council will be taking very seriously. It means we will be looking at how, when and even if, we mow the grass in some areas and when we cut hedges. It means carefully considering what products we buy that will be used in the upkeep of our green spaces, and it will influence our views on planning applications if they do not adequately address harmful impact on the environment. At this month’s meeting we will be working out what actions we can take to comply with the Biodiversity Duty so your views would be most welcome.
